Missions

During a stroke, the formation of thrombus blocks blood flow and prevents oxygenation of certain areas of the brain. Treatment is based on rapid delivery of the thrombolytic agent (t-PA), but the delivery of the drug is limited by the obstruction of the vessels.
In this project, the post-doctoral fellow will be tasked with using self-assembling magnetic microswimmers to improve the transport of a thrombolytic drug (t-PA) to the clot. He/she will also contribute to the implementation of an autopilot and guidance system for these micro-swimmers, interacting with real-time optical visualization in a microfluidic network.

Activités

• Study of the fidelity of the movement of micro-swimmers to the set trajectory
• Coupling of the release of the active ingredient and the dissolution of model clots (fibrin matrices from commercially available plasma)
• Analysis of the results

Contexte de travail

INPHYNI's activities are based on three main axes: Waves and quantum physics; Photonics; and Nonlinear Physics, Complex Fluids and Biophysics. The projects developed around these themes cover theoretical, fundamental and experimental aspects as well as applications. These projects benefit in particular from the support of technological platforms and efficient administrative and technical shared services. Experimental activities are supported by two technological platforms belonging to the institute: Optics and Photonics; and Matière Molle, the latter including a clean room. The institute's shared services include a chemistry lab, a mechanical shop, and an electronics shop.
The position is located in a sector under the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that your arrival be authorized by the competent authority of the MESR.
