Design and production of entanglement sources for quantum communications in fibres and in free space
Implementation and optimisation of quantum key distribution protocols
Deployment of a remote time synchronisation solution
Preparation of QKD mission with satellites

Activities

Fabrication of photonic entanglement sources
Measurement and characterisation of the performance of these sources
Setting up the logistics for deployment on a deployed network
Long-term and/or long-distance measurement campaigns
Study of open-air propagation channels at the Calern observatory (06)
Deployment of time synchronisation system on network

Conferences, setting up and monitoring collaborations with academic or industrial partners

Work Context

The candidate will be based at the Institut de Physique de Nice, rue Julien Lauprêtre, to work in the Photonics and Quantum Information team.
His or her work will be carried out in the context of a PEPR QCOMMTESTBED contract, which focuses on the deployment of a quantum communication network in real conditions and the implementation of an encryption solution based on keys derived from the laws of quantum physics.

The position is in a sector covered by the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that your arrival be authorised by the competent authority of the MESR.
