The recruited researcher will take part in experimental developments, in the data analysis, and in the publication of the results obtained by doing microwave experiments aiming at characterizing and understanding the interlink between topology and wave localization properties.

Contexte de travail

The Nice Physics Institute (INPHYNI) is linked to the Université Côte d'Azur and to the CNRS. The scientific activities are spread in three main domains: wave and quantum physics; photonics; and non-linear physics, complex fluids and biophysics. The research projects range from basic physics to applications, and use theoretical as well as experimental tools. These projects are supported by technological platforms, and efficient administrative and technical staff. The Wave in Complex System group deals with topic linked to the control of transport properties of classical waves in various systems ranging from homogeneous systems with a complex geometry to structured materials with or without periodic order. Thanks to versatile experimental platforms in optics and microwaves, and a strong expertise in numerical simulations and quantum chaos, the group studies various topics: mixed dynamics in multimode optical fibers, chaotic reverberation chamber, superfluidity and condensation of light, topological physics analogous to condensed matter, diffusion and localization of waves. Even though our studies are motivated by basic physics questions, they give rise to numerous applications. The recruited researcher will work in collaboration with the group leader and a junior CNRS researcher. He/She will also interract on a regular basis with the other members of the group: 7 professors/researchers, and 4 PhD students.
