Missions

As part of the AXMO project, the researcher will work on the synthesis, structural characterisation, measurement and analysis of the thermoelectric properties of chalcogenide materials, as a function of their magnetic properties.

Activities

- Solid state synthesis
- Structural characterizations
- Electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, Seebeck coefficient and Hall effect measurements.
- Magnetic measurements.
- Interpretation of transport and magnetic properties.

Skills

- Background in Solid State Chemistry and/or Condensed Matter Physics
- Skills in materials synthesis
- Skills in magnetic and transport experiments.
- Good writing, communication and organisation skills.
- Good communication skills in English, both written and oral.

Work Context

The post-doctoral fellow will work at CRISMAT laboratory, a joint laboratory between CNRS, ENSICAEN and Université de Caen Normandie. The work will be done within a collaborative project funded by Labex (Labex EMC3) and coordinated by Sylvie Hébert, together with GPM laboratory for Mössbauer spectrometry. He/she will benefit from the experiments available within CRISMAT for solid state synthesis, X-Ray diffractometers, and transport and magnetic measurements.

The position is located in a sector under the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that your arrival is authorized by the competent authority of the MESR.

Constraints and risks

Short-term travel in France and abroad is to be expected.

This job offer is subject to funding and applications are submitted to the Human Resources department for consideration.
