Oxide materials are indispensable in a wide range of electronic devices, such as transistors (as an insulator under the gate electrode), capacitors (as a dielectric oxide increasing the energy storage capacity), flat screens or photovoltaic cells (as a transparent electrode), or in piezoelectric sensors (as an active material deforming under the influence of an electric field). In this respect, the use of thin oxide films in industry requires to prepare them on large wafers, up to a diameter of 300 mm. In this context, we develop pulsed laser ablation for the growth of oxides on large surfaces. Within the GRAND-PLD project, many aspects have to be optimized in order to obtain homogeneous quality films.
The postdoctoral researcher will be in charge of the synthesis and fabrication of targets, the synthesis of thin films by pulsed laser ablation on large surfaces. He/she will also have to analyze the structure of the synthesized materials and study their physical properties. He/she will be able to rely on the respective expertise and know-how of the researchers and technical staff recognized in thin films, structural analysis, and electronic properties measurements.

This project is part of the Recovery Plan with the company CODEX. It is submitted to the validation of DRARI. The division of work will be 80% at CODEX and 20% CRISMAT.
