Missions

The candidate will be recruited within the framework of the SunToChem project (Excellence label, Normandy Region; 3.5 months), followed by the SunToH2 project (Labex, 12 months). These projects aim to develop efficient photocatalysts under visible light, for CO₂ valorization and hydrogen production, respectively.

Activités

• Keep the bibliography on the research topic constantly updated
• Study the photocatalytic performance of the synthesized photocatalysts through photocatalytic tests and characterizations using time-resolved spectroscopies to analyze excited states
• Contribute to the selection of the most efficient materials for larger-scale production
• Write work reports and deliverables, and disseminate the results through publications, conferences, and/or patents

Compétences

• PhD in chemistry, physics, or related field
• Expertise in photocatalysis is essential. Expertise in time-resolved spectroscopy and semiconductor synthesis is a strong asset.
Personal qualities
• Autonomy, organizational skills, and scientific rigor
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work in a team and coordinate research activities

Contexte de travail

This project will take place within the Photocatalysis group (SpectroCat team, LCS). The work will be carried out at the LCS - Catalysis & Spectrochemistry Laboratory located in Caen (Normandy).
The LCS has built its reputation on the preparation of porous materials, zeolites, operando spectroscopy and catalysis. By combining developed centres for synthesis, infrared spectroscopy, NMR and Raman spectroscopy, it occupies a unique position and carries out competitive, high-level research in the field of porous nanomaterials. The candidate will be attached to UMR 6506.
