Missions

We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join an innovative project at the interface of materials chemistry, nanotechnology, and oncology. The project, NANOZEOXY, focuses on the design and development of nanosized zeolites as advanced carriers of oxygen and contrast agents for therapeutic applications in hypoxic tumors, with the goal of improving the efficacy of radiotherapy.
This interdisciplinary project is a collaboration between ISTCT/CNRS, expertise in imaging, radiotherapy, and tumor pathophysiology and
LCS (Laboratoire Catalyse et Spectrochimie, CNRS/ENSICAEN/Univ. Caen Normandie), world-renowned expertise in the synthesis and characterization of nanozeolites. The project aims to translate fundamental research into clinical impact, with the creation of a start-up company developing injectable, gas-loaded nanozeolite solutions for biomedical use.

Activities

The successful candidate will synthesize and functionalize nanozeolites tailored for biomedical applications, characterize materials using advanced physicochemical and imaging techniques.
Collaborate with biologists and medical researchers to assess performance in hypoxia models and radiotherapy contexts.
Participate in publications, patents, and start-up development activities.

Skills

PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or related field
Strong expertise in zeolite synthesis, porous materials, or nanomaterials
Motivation to work in a multidisciplinary and translational research environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Work Context

The work will take place within the framework of the Project NANOZEOXY – Nanozeolites for Biomedical Applications Programme Normandie Innovation – Dispositif « Pré-maturation, maturation et valorisation de la recherche » in LCS-CNRS leaded by Dr. Svetlana Mintova (Director of Recherche Exceptional Class (DRCE), CNRS, LCS UMR 6506, Caen) in collaboration with Dr. Samule Valable (Director of Research, ISTCT/CNRS). The work will be carried out at LCS - Laboratoire Catalyse & Spectrochimie (https://www.lcs.ensicaen.fr) located in Caen (Normandy). The LCS has built its reputation on the preparation of zeolites
