Missions

The recruited person will work in MIOPS team of the IMN within the framework of a national project aiming at synthesizing and investigating photovoltaic devices based on submicronic absorber. The main tasks of IMN in this project focus on the fabrication of the cells which are based on Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) thin film absorber.

Activités

The person recruited will be in charge of fabricating CIGS-based photovoltaic cells, consisting of a glass/BC/CIGS/CdS/ZnO/AZO type stack, where BC designates the back contact also acting as an optical reflector. The main challenge of this work will be to adapt the growth conditions of the absorber to the type of back contact chosen by the consortium, in particular by limiting the substrate temperature during the synthesis of the absorber in order to preserve the optoelectronic properties of the stack constituting the back contact.

Compétences

The candidate should have a PhD in physics or materials science and proven expertise in the growth and analysis of polycrystalline chalcogenide thin films with a chalcopyrite structure by coevaporation. Advanced knowledge in the field of photovoltaics is also required; expertise in solid state chemistry will definitely be an asset. The candidate must be fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking) and be able to work in a team. He/she must be able to communicate and valorize the results of the research.

Contexte de travail

The Institut des Matériaux Jean Rouxel (IMN, UMR6502, http://www.cnrs-imn.fr) is a joint CNRS– University of Nantes research unit, composed of more than 200 staff, including about 120 permanent staff and 80 doctoral and post-doctoral students, bringing together physicists and chemists conducting research activities in the field of functional materials. The person recruited will evolve within the MIOPS team (Innovative Materials for Optics, Photovoltaics and Storage) and will be in direct interaction with the other partners of the project, namely the C2N (Paris-Saclay), the IPVF (Palaiseau) and the SVI (Aubervilliers). All the common facilities available at IMN can be used within the framework of the project, in particular the means in microscopy, vibrational spectroscopy and electron emission.

Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
