Missions
A postdoctoral position funded by the French National Research Agency is available at the Institut des Matériaux de Nantes Jean Rouxel (IMN), CNRS UMR 6502, in Nantes, France. The postdoctoral researcher will continue the work carried out by our former doctoral student as part of the PROTEC project. The work will focus on the synthesis of proton-conducting materials and the thermodynamic study of the hydration reaction.
Activités
- Contribution to work package 2 concerning the development of electrolytic materials as part of the PROTEC project.
- Synthesis using the glycine nitrate process (GNP).
- Characterizations: thermodiffraction/thermogravimetric analysis at different water vapor pressures, electron microscopy. Refinements of the crystal structure (Rietveld refinements).
- Oral presentations at PROTEC meetings and scientific conferences.
Compétences
- The candidate will hold a PhD in solid state chemistry and will have no more than two years of experience after completing their thesis.
- The candidate will be familiar with conventional synthesis techniques in solid state chemistry, including GNP (glycine nitrate process) synthesis. They will also be comfortable with conventional characterization techniques used in solid state chemistry (X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, and scanning/transmission electron microscopy).
- The candidate will be able to advance their project independently and will also be able to interact with team members to present their results and discuss them.
- Language skills: fluency in English (reading, speaking, and writing in the scientific field) and fluency in French is an asset.
Contexte de travail
The project will take place at the Institut des Matériaux de Nantes Jean Rouxel (IMN), a laboratory with approximately 200 employees (https://www.cnrs-imn.fr/), within the Electrochemical Energy Storage and Conversion (ST2E) team.
Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
Contraintes et risques
Toxic reagents, ionizing radiation (X-rays).
Travel outside the region will be necessary during the postdoctoral fellowship.
