Job Description
Missions
The researcher's responsibilities include contributing to the development of plasmonic environments capable of generating chiral photocurrents via the inverse Faraday effect.
Activity
The engineer will be responsible for the experimental fabrication of the structures optimized through other means, for validating their properties using near-field mapping of chiral fields, for implementing photocurrent measurement protocols, and for participating in the analysis and communication of the results.
Your Profil
Skills
- Technical
o Skills in nanofabrication (electronic and optical lithography, thin-film deposition, etc.)
o Strong knowledge of plasmonics
o Advanced scientific programming in Python
o Experience with advanced optical microscopy
- Cross-disciplinary
o Ability to operate and maintain complex and expensive experimental systems
o Scientific rigor
o Excellent communication skills (collaborative project)
o Independence and analytical skills
Your Work Environment
This position is part of the PEPR LUMA Bernardo program titled “Bridging the chirality of light between near- and far-fields with nanophotonics” and will be carried out in close collaboration with the partner INSP (Mr. Mivelle). The researcher will join the Photonics Department of the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Carnot de Bourgogne (ICB), a joint CNRS/Université Bourgogne Europe research unit recognized for its excellence in the fields of optics, photonics, and nanotechnology. As part of a dynamic and interdisciplinary team, the researcher will benefit from a stimulating research environment. In particular, they will rely on the laboratory's technological platforms (ARCEN and SmartLight) for the nanofabrication and prototyping of structures, as well as their near-field characterization.
Constraints and risks
The position is available at a ZRR laboratory.
