Missions
The Law and Social Change Research Center (ULR 6297) is hiring a post-doctoral researcher in Law to study the territorial limits of personal data law.
The researcher will join the iPOP research project (Interdisciplinary Project on Privacy), which aims to study new threats to privacy caused by personal data processing and to developt theoretical and technical solutions for protecting privacy. In particular, iPOP is looking into: new ways of collecting personal data, machine learning solutions that preserve confidentiality, data anonymisation techniques, securing personal data management systems, differential confidentiality and the legal resources available to provide a framework in this area (https://files.inria.fr/ipop/ ).
Activités
The aim of the position is to explore the territorial limits of personal data protection law, using, where appropriate, case studies such as international data transfers, data leaks and distributed techniques for accessing personal data.
Compétences
- The scientific context of this position requires to work in close collaboration with researchers in computer science. Thus, the researcher needs to be open-minded to pluri/interdisciplinary researches and have enthusiasm for teamwork.
- Fluency in written and spoken French and English is required.
- A doctorate in law must have been obtained within the last three years.
Contexte de travail
The Law and Social Change Center (LSC) is a joint research unit under the supervision of the French National Center for Scientific Research and Nantes University.
The appointed researcher will be affiliated to the "Health innovation and biopower" research division of the LSC Center.
A change of residence is not compulsory, and teleworking can be arranged.
The post will involve travel to meet stakeholders in the field and to take part in iPOP's activities.
