Job Description
Missions
Assist DCS's colleagues with legal analysis under foreign law. Take part in scientific communication and mediation activities.
Activity
- Compilation of laws, court rulings, reports and other documentation concerning compensation for victims of coastal erosion and coastal flooding relating to the loss of their homes in some of the following countries: EU/Canada/UK/Netherlands/Spain/Italy and, where necessary, other foreign cases.
- Compilation of legal doctrine on this subject covering the countries under study.
- Creation of Excel spreadsheets to enable a preliminary (quantitative) analysis of these resources.
- Identification of stakeholders in the relevant countries with a view to conducting interviews.
- Assisting experts in law in conducting interviews.
- Verifying the automatic transcription of interviews.
- Attending consortium meetings.
- Assisting with the organisation of events and materials relating to scientific mediation and communication.
Your Profil
Skills
- Knowledge: primarily environmental law, town planning law, administrative law, comparative law and foreign law (Europe/North America)
- Skills: research skills, familiarity with databases on foreign law, attention to detail.
- Interpersonal skills: comfortable with oral and written communication in an interdisciplinary and multicultural academic environment; C2 or C1 level in English (certified). Ability to work independently and interact within a team.
Your Work Environment
The Ingeneer in LAW (Master's Degree completed) is being recruited under the 'CLAIM' research agreement funded by France 2023/PEPR IRIMA-Risques. The aim is to examine the legal framework for supporting victims of coastal erosion and marine flooding from a comparative law perspective.
Constraints and risks
The position is based in Nantes, at the DCS laboratory. The work is carried out on-site. Weekly meetings are held with DCS legal staff, either in person or via video conference, to define tasks, set priorities, ensure the work is progressing smoothly, and confirm the ingeneer's satisfaction with the working environment.
