Job Description
Missions
The person recruited will develop omics approaches (genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics) to characterize microbial and/or fungal strains for the biodegradation of rubber materials
Activity
He or she will carry out biodegradation experiments on elastomers on isolated microbial and/or fungal strains.
He or she will characterize the strains studied on the microbiological and genomic scale.
It implements proteomic approaches to characterize new metabolomic pathways for elastomer degradation.
In this context, he or she will process data from genomics/proteomics experiments using appropriate bioinformatics tools.
He or she will ensure the development of analytical methods in molecular biology (qPCR) as well as in biochemistry (development of enzymatic tests).
The results obtained will be disseminated through participation in national or international conferences, and consideration will also be given to possible patent applications such as publication of articles in scientific journals.
Your Profil
Skills
The postdoctoral fellow will hold a PhD thesis at the bioinformatics/biology interface.
Ideally, he or she will have a dual competence in omics data processing and experimental biochemistry/microbiology.
A post-doctoral experience will be a plus.
He or she will integrate a multidisciplinary research team, and interact with public and private partners. He or she will show abilities to work independently as well as in a team.
Your Work Environment
This fixed-trem contract is funded as part of a joint BioDLab laboratory dedicated to the biodegradation of elastomers. This tripartite laboratory is the result of a collaboration between the University of Clermont Auvergne (UCA), the CNRS, and the Manufacture Française des Pneumatiques Michelin.
The position is based at the Clermont-Ferrand Institute of Chemistry (ICCF, UMR UCA-CNRS 6296) and more specifically in the BIOMETA team. He or she will benefit from local expertise in microbiology, biochemistry, organic and materials chemistry. He or she will have access to the laboratory's microbial collections and will benefit from privileged access to technical platforms such as the institute's state-of-the-art instrument park. For example, the ICCF has platforms in microbiology, molecular modeling, mass spectrometry, and NMR.
As part of the joint laboratory, he or she will participate and present the progress of his/her results during the various working meetings.
