Missions
The postdoctoral researcher will work on the CHAXABIOTIC project at the IMMM. This project aims to develop the synthesis of chaxalactin analogues, macrolactones isolated from a Streptomyces strain that exhibit promising antibacterial activity. A modular and flexible synthetic strategy has been developed by the research team. The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for the synthesis of the different fragments and their coupling to prepare a library of analogues. The position will also involve purification of the compounds and their full chemical characterization using standard spectroscopic techniques. The antibacterial activity of the synthesized compounds will subsequently be evaluated.

Work Context
The Institut des Molécules et Matériaux du Mans (IMMM) is a multidisciplinary research laboratory (UMR 6283, Le Mans, France) bringing together approximately 120 permanent researchers and 60 PhD students and postdoctoral fellows. The institute develops an interdisciplinary research approach encompassing polymers, inorganic materials, organic synthesis, and the physics of confined systems.
The recruited candidate (Postdoctoral Researcher, M/F) will work under the supervision of Anne-Caroline Chany within the COMMet research theme.
