Job Description
Missions
The successful candidate will contribute to the fabrication of chalcogenide glass targets as well as to the deposition of thin films intended for the implementation of the transducer. He/She will actively participate in optical, thermal, and structural characterizations. Working alongside the scientific coordinator and the project manager, the candidate will assist them in the scientific monitoring of the European IBAIA project.
Activity
The candidate will participate in the research activities carried out within the framework of the European IBAIA project, focused on infrared photonics and chalcogenide glass-based materials. The main activities will include:
Synthesis of chalcogenide glass targets
Thin-film deposition by sputtering (PVD)
Chemical, optical, thermal, and structural characterizations (SEM, EDS, DSC, XRD, transmission, AFM, etc.), refractive index measurements (m-lines, ellipsometry), Raman and infrared spectroscopy
Writing reports and delivering oral presentations, contributing to the preparation of scientific reports and project deliverables within the framework of the European project
Your Profil
Skills
Excellent written and spoken English
Master's degree (MSc, Bac +5) in Materials Science
Knowledge of the theoretical and experimental fundamentals of materials science
Advanced expertise in the synthesis of chalcogenide glasses
Analytical skills, ability to work in a team, curiosity and scientific awareness, strong interest in the project, and good interpersonal skills
