Your Work Environment
The Institute of Chemical Sciences of Rennes (ISCR – UMR 6226) is a joint research unit involving the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the University of Rennes, the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Rennes (ENSCR), and the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Rennes (INSA Rennes).
Established in 2006, the ISCR results from the successive consolidation of all academic chemistry research activities based in Rennes. It brings together more than 280 permanent staff members, including approximately 140 faculty members, 60 CNRS researchers, and 80 engineers and technical staff, across the Rennes Beaulieu and Rennes Villejean campuses and the IUT of Lannion, with a total community of more than 500 people.
Its organization into eight research teams of varying sizes makes it possible to combine the scientific advantages of a research structure covering a broad range of disciplines with close and effective management at the individual level.
The Rennes chemistry community has recognized expertise in the design and synthesis of molecules, crystals, and tailor-made materials with specific functions or properties, using a wide range of molecular and materials engineering tools. More specifically, its research activities cover molecular chemistry (organic, organometallic, and coordination chemistry), materials derived from solid-state chemistry and metallurgy, catalysis, electrochemistry, theoretical chemistry, and chemical process engineering.
