Missions
This project is part of our cooperation program with the company TotalEnergie OneTech and aims to electrochemically stabilize oils from biomass in order to make them commercially viable. This involves developing an electrochemical process as an alternative to existing treatments by hydro-deoxygenation under hydrogen at high pressure and temperature. More precisely, it will be necessary to optimize the electrochemical reduction parameters (metal, potential, time, etc.) as well as the electrochemical cell in order to direct the electrosynthesis towards obtaining stable oils.
Activités
Development of original electrochemical methodologies and optimization of electrolysis conditions and electrolysis cells. Analysis and characterization of oils.
Experimental work.
Analyzes (NMR, HPLC, etc.)
Scientific and technical bibliography.
Writing scientific reports and research publications.
Regular oral presentations.
Compétences
-PhD in Chemistry or Physical-Chemistry with knowledge of electrochemistry.
Ability to use and perform experiments with the common techniques of electrochemistry (Cyclic Voltammetry, Electrolysis, Chronoamperometry,...) - Experience in the use of electrochemical cells for electrosynthesis or battery.
Ability to work in a multicultural team while being autonomous and motivated by this subject; Ability to write and present articles and to popularize the scientific work.
Contexte de travail
The research work will take place within the MaCSE Team of the Institute of Chemical Sciences of Rennes (ISCR) located on the Beaulieu campus in Rennes from October/December 2023. The work will be supervised by Philippe Hapiot and several members of the MaCSE team. The position is located in a sector falling under the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with regulations, that the arrival of the trainee be authorized by the competent authority of the MESR.
Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
Contraintes et risques
Work in chemistry/electrochemistry with the usual constraints (work in a ventilated fume cupboard, personal protective equipment, etc.).
