Missions
Computational quantum chemistry studies of luminescent lanthanide complexes within the framework of a collaborative project which aims to design assemblies with an adjustable dynamic optical response using combined experimental and theoretical approaches.
Activités
The mission will consist in studying the structure-property relationships (photophysics) in the ground state and in the excited state of synthesized or targeted systems linked to experimental studies using quantum chemistry computer tools (mainly DFT). The work will be devoted to the production of computational results using the computational resources of the team and the national computer HPC centers. He/she will participate in discussions regarding the entire project. His/her work will provide major contributions to the interpretation of data produced during the project and to molecular modeling with a view to improving their properties.
Compétences
The candidate should have a strong background in computational quantum chemistry (density functional theory (DFT) and wavefunction calculations) applied to the study of physical and chemical properties of molecular systems. Knowledge in photophysics and/or chemical properties is highly required (academic background or professional experiences).
Contexte de travail
This post-doctoral work is funded by the French Agency for Research (ANR) and will take place within the framework of a collaboration involving other research teams in Rennes and Lyon (France). The candidate will be hosted at Institute of Chemical Sciences de Rennes on the Campus Beaulieu at the University of Rennes 1 (https://iscr.univ-rennes1.fr/).
Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
Contraintes et risques
Professional travels in France and abroad are to be expected.
