Work Context

The Chemical Science Institute of Rennes (ISCR) is a mixed Unit of Research (UMR 6226) involving both the CNRS (INC and INSIS), the University of Rennes 1, Superior National School of Chemistry of Rennes (ENSCR) and the National Institute of the Applied Sciences of Rennes (INSA). This institute was created the 1st January 2006 and it is the result of the combination of the academic centers of Rennes. In 2017, it involves more than 280 permanent staff (140 assistant professors and full professors, 60 CNRS researchers and 80 engineers and technicians) split on the Rennes Beaulieu, Rennes Villejean, Lannion IUT sites for a total effective of more than 500 people. 8 teams are involved in the institute covering a large range of research fields. The chemistry in Rennes involves strong skills in synthesis of new molecules, crystals, materials displaying functions or specific properties in the fields such as:
- Molecular chemistry (organic, organometallic and coordination)
- Materials coming from solid chemistry and metallurgy
- Catalysis
- Electrochemistry
- Computational chemistry
- Chemical process engineering
