Job Description
Missions
The post-doctoral fellow will participate in the research activities of the Laboratoire de Mathématiques de Bretagne Atlantique (LMBA). The scientific topics will be guided by the ANR OCSYC project "Oxygen-Controled Self-assemblY of Cells", coordinated by Vincent Calvez at the LMBA, in collaboration with biophysicists and mathematicians in Lyon (respectively ILM-UMR 5306, and ICJ-UMR 5208).
Activity
The successful candidate will contribute to the modeling, analysis, and numerical analysis of collective cell dynamics under low-oxygen conditions. Mixed PDE/ODE models have been developed within the group as a result of a collaboration initiated in 2019. These consist of reaction-diffusion PDE coupled with ODE for compact cell aggregates. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of these models to understand the collective dynamics of the aggregates and phase transition phenomena, as well as their long-term asymptotics.
Participation in working groups and relevant seminars will also be part of the successful candidate's activities.
Your Profil
Skills
Candidates are expected to hold a PhD in mathematics or applied mathematics, with a focus on Partial Differential Equations and/or Stochastic Processes, either on theoretical or numerical aspects, or both. The ability to interact with biologists or biophysicists will be considered positively.
Your Work Environment
The post-doctoral fellow will be associated with the LMBA, on the campus of University of Bretagne Occidentale, Brest. The person recruited will interact mainly with Vincent Calvez, CNRS researcher in the "Analysis, Stochastic Phenomena and Applications" section.
