Job Description
Missions
Synthesis of new electroactive π-conjugated molecules that can be inserted in 2D halide perovskite materials and 1D metal-halide networks.
Promote and disseminate the obtained results.
Activity
Design of synthetic pathway for the target electroactive cations.
Synthesis of the organic cations and crystallization of the hybrid metal-halide compounds.
Optical and chiroptical characterization of both organic molecules and hybrid compounds.
Involvement and participation in training the internship students in direct relation with the research project.
Dissemination, valorisation and promotion of the results (scientific papers, participation in conferences)
Your Profil
Skills
The candidate must hold a PhD in Chemistry.
The candidate must be motivated by research, and should have solid knowledge in organic synthesis and optical characterization, an interest for light polarization (CD, CPL) and electric current spin polarization (CISS effect, spintronic devices).
The candidate should be able to present the results of the project (a good level of English knowledge is required). Other skills such as thin film surface analysis (profilometry, AFM) and chiroptical methods will be highly appreciated.
Your Work Environment
The MOLTECH-Anjou Laboratory (a joint CNRS-University of Angers research unit) brings together the expertise of 80 people, including nearly 50 CNRS researchers, academic researchers, engineers, and technical staff, as well as around 30 doctoral and post-doctoral researchers.
The scientific activity of the MOLTECH-Anjou Laboratory focuses on the development of molecular materials, whether organic or hybrid organic-inorganic, supporting high-visibility research areas such as organic electronics, stimuli-responsive materials, nanostructuring, and materials for energy.
Six research teams combine their expertise in theoretical and computational chemistry, organic and inorganic synthesis, coordination and supramolecular chemistry, physical and analytical chemistry, materials design, and photonics. Five teams are affiliated with the CNRS National Institute of Chemistry (INC), while the sixth is part of the CNRS National Institute of Physics (CIMI - ECHO - KEMTRONIX - PulSAr - VoltEdge - SAMSON).
The candidate will join the CIMI Team and work in the frame of the Percee JCJC project ChiroSpin. This project aims to understand the chemical and structural parameters that can influence the electron's spin polarization in chiral halide perovskites, and to use this property in spintronic devices in order to improve quantum efficiency and control light and current polarization.
