Mega-constellations of thousands of satellites will connect billions of people in remote areas and provide competitive and new services to urban areas. Low-cost receive / transmit user terminals tracking fast moving satellites and easy to deploy are necessary: this constitutes the major challenge to solve. The candidate will work on a project funded by CNRS for the development of a novel antenna technology for satellite applications.


This project aims in developing a novel antenna technology based on the knowhow of IETR on terminal antennas for space. The project success sits on a smart and disruptive combination of a quasi-optical system driving a high-performing antenna core. Our target is to develop a low cost antenna in PCB technology for terminal users.


Good knoledge of full-wave EM simulators (HFSS/CST/COMSOL)
Experience with antenna measurements
Experience with PCB fabrication

Work Context

The work will be carried out at IETR within the BEAMS team.
