Job Description
Missions
* Design and develop innovative wireless neuromodulation devices for biomedical and bioelectronic applications.
* Perform multiphysics simulations (electromagnetic, thermal, and bioelectric) to optimize device performance, safety, and efficacy.
* Develop numerical models and design tools for energy transmission, communication, and stimulation in biological tissues.
* Design, fabricate, and experimentally execute prototypes in the laboratory, in collaboration with technological platforms and academic partners.
* Participate in translational studies and preclinical measurement campaigns in conjunction with the project's clinical and hospital partners.
* Contribute to the scientific dissemination of the work through publication, participation in collaborative projects, and occasional student supervision.
Activity
- Design and optimize wireless neuromodulation devices using multiphysics simulation and modeling.
- Develop digital tools and design methods for energy transmission, communication, and implantable stimulation.
- Perform prototyping, integration, and experimental characterization of devices in the laboratory.
- Conduct preclinical validation studies in collaboration with the project's academic, industrial, and clinical partners.
Your Profil
Skills
* PhD in electrical engineering, applied physics, bioelectronics, or a related field, with expertise in wireless neuromodulation devices.
* Strong skills in multiphysics modeling and simulation applied to electromagnetic and implantable systems.
* Proficiency in simulation and scientific computing tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics, Python, NEURON, and SimNIBS.
* Experience in experimental development, data analysis, and collaborative work in an interdisciplinary environment involving engineers, biologists, and clinicians.
Your Work Environment
The position is based at the Institute of Electronics and Digital Technologies (IETR, UMR CNRS 6164), within the eWAVES team. The researcher will join an interdisciplinary research environment dedicated to the development of innovative technologies for implantable devices and neuromodulation. The work will primarily be carried out within the framework of the ERC BESSEL project, led by the team, and will be conducted in close collaboration with the researchers, engineers, doctoral students, and academic, industrial, and clinical partners involved in the project.
