Research in algorithms and structural graph theory. The priority research topic is about data complexity measures like VC-dimension, Littlestone dimension, Teaching dimension, neighbourhood and profile complexity, etc.

Other topics in algorithms and structural graph theory, especially those that are motivated by applications in artifical intelligence, can be studied upon mutual agreement.

Part of the working time can be devoted to the recruited person's own projects.

Activities

The main activity is to engage in research activities on the above-mentioned topics, write research articles, participate in conferences, etc. Co-supervision of research interns is desirable (upon availability).

The recruited person will participate in the scientific life of the AGC research theme (https://limos.fr/themes/2), of the alcoloco working group (https://alcoloco.isima.fr/) and of the LIMOS laboratory: seminars, research meetings, discussions and collaborations with the members of the laboratory.

Skills

A completed PhD in computer science or mathematics, with a strong background in structural or algorithmic graph theory.

Ideally, the recruited person has 1-3 years of experience after the PhD.

Work Context

The Laboratoire d'Informatique, de Modélisation et d'Optimisation des Systèmes (LIMOS) is a Mixed Research Unit (UMR 6158) in computer science. The main research axes developed in the laboratory are Models and Algorithms to support Decision making (MAAD), Information and Communication Systems (SIC), and Decision-support Tools for Production and Services (ODPS).

The recruited person will work with Florent Foucaud within the theme "Algorithms, Graphs, Complexity" of the MAAD axis of LIMOS in Clermont-Ferrand, France.
