Missions

Mathematical and experimental modelling of reactive solute transport in porous media to understand contaminant transport in the subsurface

Activities

- Activity 1: Develop laboratory-scale experiments using laser-induced fluorimetry.
- Activity 2: Develop an in-house mathematical model and code for reactive transport in unsaturated porous media.
- Activity 3: Supervise and guide Masters and PhD students working on reactive transport and similar topics.
- Activity 4: Participate in the development of new capabilities for the research group.

Skills

- Knowledge: PhD in engineering or related field, with post-doctoral research experience in flow and transport in porous media.
- Know-how: Mathematical modeling, micro/milli-fluidic experimentation
- Soft skills: Strong scientific writing and communication skills (preferably demonstrated by published papers)

Work Context

The researcher will join the Transport and Reactivity team in the Geosciences Rennes laboratory, to work on the ANDOUR project funded by the Brittany region and the ERC project CHORUS.
