Missions
The aim of the E2CC (Eco Edge to Cloud Continuum) project is to provide a standardized integration layer from the Edge to the Cloud, constituting a technological reference enabling interconnection with Cloud providers and providing functions relating to cybersecurity, decarbonization and orchestration.
Deploying applications on Edge continuum infrastructures requires the use of various hardware and software components that are distributed across the infrastructures. These components are heterogeneous and their power consumption depends partially on how they are used. Several options are therefore possible for deploying applications on these distributed infrastructures. The aim of this post-doc is to propose and validate energy metrics in Cloud environments that can be used in practice in Cloud environment resource management tools. They could then be used in strategies for allocating energy-efficient resources, or even in tools for allocating the carbon footprint of users of Cloud environments.
