Missions

The person recruited will integrate the "Device" work group of the joint laboratory of about ten people divided between the Murata company and the GREYC laboratory. He/she will carry out electrical characterizations of capacitors according to the requests of product engineers or technology engineers and will study the impact of manufacturing technologies on RF and DC performances as well as on the fiability of devices.

Activities

- Measurements (reliability, DC, RF) to analyse potential component failures for the different product applications.- Management and maintenance of the measurement equipment
- Analysis of characterisation results (statistics, reports, publications)
- Development of new measurement techniques adapted to these frequencies and to new component geometries for the estimation of parameters of compact models

Skills

- Experimental skills, particularly in RF and probe-tip measurements
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Work in autonomy
- Ability to listen and communicate
- Rigorous, interested in industrialisation and academic research activities.
- Backgroung in electronics and measurements, engineer or master level

Work Context

-Murata Integrated Passive Solutions is a company of the Japanese Murata Group (75,000 employees, 100 filiales, $15 billion in sales revenues). Based in Caen (Normandy), it is a world-wide recognized leader in silicon-based passive component integration technology. It offers a global offering for the miniaturisation of electronic circuits, with a very high level of performance. The GREYC laboratory is a research laboratory located in Caen in Normandy (France). It carries out research activities in the field of digital sciences covering several aspects of computer science including image processing, data mining, artificial intelligence, computer security, mathematical computing, language processing, electronics and instrumentation. The GREYC Electronics team develops research activities on advanced electronic components and high-sensitivity sensors, ranging from materials to devices and systems.
The engineer recruited will be in charge of electrical characterizations within the joint laboratory Integrated Passive Devices of Normandy (IPDN) between the company Murata and the GREYC laboratory.

This recruitment offer is part of the France Recovery Plan for a research collaboration project with the Murata company and will be submitted to DRARI for validation.

Constraints and risks

The research engineer will share his/her working time between the GREYC (50%) and Murata (50%) sites, both located north of Caen and 2 km apart.
The internal regulations of GREYC and Murata will apply.
