Missions
Understanding the mechanism of action of pharmacophores (localization, biological target) is essential for their optimization and market introduction. This typically requires the incorporation of chemical tags into their structures, such as imaging agents (fluorophores, radioisotopes, lanthanides for MRI) or (photo)reactive functionalities (chemoproteomics). Consequently, this generally involves a long and costly resynthesis process.
Activités
The candidate will be in charge of
- Developing new reaction conditions on model compounds for the introduction of tags of biological interest.
- Tagging biologically active drugs or hits
- Managing the project in partnership with the team leader
- Supervising Master students
Compétences
The candidate must hold a PhD in chemistry. This project involves organic synthesis methodologies, catalysis & photochemistry. Highly motivated candidates with a strong interest in working at the interface of organic chemistry and biology. Experience or knowledges in chemical biology is a plus
Contexte de travail
The postdoctoral fellowship will take place at the CARMeN Institute (CNRS, UMR 6064) at the Université de Rouen Normandie. This research will be conducted within the bioorganic chemistry team, under the supervision of Dr. Cyrille Sabot (CNRS Research Director, contact: cyrille.sabot@univ-rouen.fr). The team's research focuses on developing novel photoactivatable molecular tools for applications in chemical biology, including drug discovery, bioconjugation, and biomolecular recognition.
