Job Description

Missions

Within the framework of the European project UBT-Rad, funded by the PIANOFORTE program, we hypothesize that low-dose irradiation (LDIR) could be a factor promoting the development of brain tumors in connection with genetic alterations.
In this context, we wish to recruit a postdoctoral researcher whose mission will be to assess the effects of low- and high-dose brain and non-brain irradiation on transgenic mice that spontaneously develop brain tumors.

Activity

Monitoring of transgenic animals (genotyping)
Brain and non-brain irradiation
MRI imaging follow-up of tumor development
Establishment of a tissue collection
Histological analyses
Biochemical assays

Your Profil

Skills

Animal experimentation
Radiobiology, animal irradiation
Classical cell and molecular biology techniques (nucleic acid and protein extraction, RT-PCR, histology, biochemical assays)
Fluent English (B2 level or higher)

Your Work Environment

The ISTCT unit—"Imaging and Therapeutic Strategies for Cancers and Brain Tissues" (UMR6030)—is a joint research unit of the CNRS and the University of Caen-Normandy (UNICAEN), located at the GIP CYCERON in Caen. ISTCT brings together around fifty researchers, clinician-scientists, engineers, technicians, and students from diverse backgrounds, fostering the development of fundamental, preclinical, and clinical research.
ISTCT's research activities aim to better understand the physiopathology of hypoxic tumors (brain-lung) and to identify new therapeutic strategies targeting both the tumor and its microenvironment, while also protecting surrounding healthy tissue from anticancer treatments such as radiotherapy.
This project will be conducted as part of a European project under the PIANOFORTE program.
