This project is part of our research program dedicated to the development of new methodologies by means of transition metal catalysis for the functionalization of molecules. A strong emphasis will be paid on the direct functionalization of unactivated C-H bonds and to build up fluorinated scaffolds. The postdoctoral fellow will be in charge of the experimental work, analysis (NMR, HPLC…), the writing of scientific reports and will take benefit from an international research environment.
Development of original methodologies in order to tackle key synthetic challenges:
analysis (NMR, HPLC…)
writing of scientific reports and publications
The candidate should have a Ph.D. in organic chemistry. He or she will have a strong background in organic synthesis especially in the development of new methodologies. A background in organometallic chemistry, in homogenous catalysis and in supramolecular chemistry would be an asset (but not mandatory). We are looking for a dedicated, experienced and highly motivated candidate. Moreover, the candidate should have good communication skills and a good team spirit.
The post-doctoral fellow will work in the “Synthesis of Fluorinated Biomolecules” group (UMR 6014 COBRA-CNRS), headed by Professor Xavier Pannecoucke. The group, which includes 6 permanent staffs and ca. 15-20 Ph.D. students and postdoctoral fellows, is located at IRCOF Rouen (CNRS, University and INSA Rouen), France.
The post doctoral fellow will work under the supervision of Dr. Tatiana Besset (CNRS Research Associate, Contact: email@example.com). Her research focuses on the design of new transition metal-catalyzed C–H bond functionalization reactions and the development of new strategies for the synthesis of fluorinated building blocks.
Applications should include:
• A detailed CV including at least two referees, able to be contacted (Note that the recommendation letters must be directly sent from the referees to the contact persons).
• A cover letter
• A short research summary
