The post doc is devoted to the study of regulation of conservation laws. Among such equations, one may find the Burgers equation or other equations arising in traffic flow. The objective is to design a Proportional integral kind of feedback law for this kind of systems.


The researcher will have to perform bibliographic researchs on the regulation by PI controller for partial differential equations. He will have to enhance his works by publishing his work in peer-reviewed journal, and also international conference with peer-reviewed publications.


The researcher has to hold a PhD either in mathematics or in automatic control, with a good knowledge in partial differential equation, in the theoric or the numeric point of view. He should also be able to communicate pretty well in english, through his publications or his collaborations. A good capacity to integrate a research team will be appreciated during the interview for recruiting him.

Work Context

The post-doc will take place in LS2N, especially in the campus of Centrale Nantes. The post-doc candidate will be host in the Commande (Control) team.

Additional Information

The post-doc topic will be about the regulation of conservation laws. The idea is to extend the PI technique to make converge the state of the conservation law towards a desired state (which does not have to be an equilibrium point). A numerical scheme inspired by Godunov or the wave front tracking might be performed in order to test the efficiency of the feedback law.
