Missions
Context
The construction industry is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by the emergence of new technologies that promise to improve productivity, safety, and building quality. Robotics and mechatronics are playing an increasingly important role in this transformation. This engineer position is part of a recruitment drive to lead a research project focused on automating the production and installation cycle of custom-made insulated facades. The goal is to accelerate the energy renovation of buildings by automating the production and installation of insulated facades.
Your Mission:
As part of our research and development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing innovative robotic solutions for the thermal insulation of buildings. You will work on a project ranging from prototype development through to laboratory testing and commissioning on construction sites.
Activity
Your Responsibilities:
• Design:
o Carry out feasibility studies and functional analyses.
o Define the technical specifications for robotic systems.
o Carry out detailed design of robotic subsystems and support and mounting mechanisms for sensors and actuators, using CAD tools.
o Conduct stress analyses (e.g. RDM), tolerance studies and dynamic simulations to ensure the robustness and reliability of the design.
o Draft documents explaining your design choices.
• Development:
o Detailed design of mechanisms.
o Oversee or carry out the prototyping of parts (e.g. 3D printing, CNC machining) and ensure the precise assembly of the entire robotic system.
o Maintain technical documentation and keep rigorous track of bills of materials (BOMs)
• Implementation:
o Ensure the commissioning of robotic systems for laboratory testing.
o Carry out comprehensive tests on the physical system to validate its mechanical performance.
o Monitor the robots' performance and make any necessary improvements.
