Missions
The candidate will join the IP2I's MANOIR team, which consists of two university professors, one senior lecturer, and four CNRS researchers. The team is working jointly on two projects: TESSERACT, which aims to detect light dark matter and is funded by the TES4DM project, and Ricochet, which aims to study low-energy neutrino physics through the study of the neutrino-nucleus elastic and coherent scattering process. The candidate's work will focus on the future TESSERACT experiment, particularly within the framework of the TES4DM project led by IP2I, LPSC, and IJCLab, with involvement in the calibration of low-energy nuclear recoils via the CRAB calibration platform. The candidate will therefore be involved in R&D related to TES4DM low-voltage cryogenic detector technology, including its development, assembly, and operation on IP2I's CRYORED cryogenic platform, and will be required to adapt this same detector technology to the CRAB infrastructure, contributing in particular to the instrumentation, validation of the experimental device on site, and analysis of the data produced.
Activités
- Experimental implications for the development of the TES4DM low-voltage cryogenic detector technology, including assembly, instrumentation, operation, and analysis of data from validation tests on the cryostats of the IP2I's CRYORED platform
- Experimental and simulation work related to the calibration of TES4DM low-voltage technology on the thermal neutron beam of the CRAB platform in Vienna
- Phenomenological studies of TES4DM low-voltage technology, with Ge and Si targets, as part of the search for light dark matter with the future TESSERACT experiment
- Supervision of students on all of the research activities defined above
- Writing scientific articles and conference presentations
Compétences
Skills
- Knowledge of astroparticle physics and detection methods.
- Good knowledge of methods associated with experimental physics (detection, data acquisition) and data analysis.
- Good experience in scientific communication (English and French) and writing scientific articles.
- Teamwork, scientific mindset, and autonomy.
Contexte de travail
The candidate will be required to travel within France and abroad for collaborative meetings with TESSERACT's international partners, for testing on the CRAB platform in Vienna, and to present research from the TES4DM project, and more broadly from TESSERACT, at international conferences.
Contraintes et risques
