Job Description

Missions

As part of a project with SAFRAN, the engineer will contribute to the development of a nanosecond micro-laser source designed for the ignition of aeroengines. They will be involved in the design, construction and characterisation of the source, as well as in laser ignition tests on a contractor's engine test bench.

Activity

• Definition of the source's characteristics (3 months).
• Design and installation of the source (5 months).
• Characterisation of the source's performance (3 months).
• Conducting laser ignition tests at the contractor's premises (1 month).

Your Profil

Skills

• Laser physics: study and development of nanosecond laser sources.
• Laser pulse metrology.
• Ability to carry out optical experiments.

Your Work Environment

- LOMA is an interdisciplinary joint research unit (UMR) organised around three teams: Photonics and Materials (PM), Soft Matter and Biophysics, and Condensed Matter Theory. It comprises around 100 researchers and lecturer-researchers, plus around 20 technical staff. The successful candidate will work within the PM team. They will report to a Research Director and a university professor.
- The post falls within a sector subject to scientific and technical security (PPST) regulations and therefore, in accordance with the regulations, requires authorisation for your appointment from the relevant authority at the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR).
