Job Description

Missions

This project is part of a development program with the SATT Pulsalys. It focuses on the development of a tool for characterizing viral particles. It will be based on the use of methods derived from nanofluidics.

Activity

The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for developing a prototype that combines optical detection and nanopore technology. He or she will establish protocols for processing viral samples. He or she will coordinate the implementation of an automated system for analyzing the data generated by the prototype.

Your Profil

Skills

Skills in imaging single molecules and, more generally, in optics - Knowledge of virology and molecular biology methods - Knowledge of nanofluidics methods - Presentation and discussion of results - Teamwork and collaboration

Your Work Environment

The Physics Laboratory at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (LPENSL) covers a wide range of fields, from statistical physics to hydrodynamic turbulence, including mathematical physics and signal processing, as well as soft and condensed matter. The diversity of the topics studied allows the laboratory to tackle both long-standing and emerging problems by combining modeling and experimentation at the highest level. This multidisciplinary approach is particularly fostered by the laboratory's close ties to the physics program at the ENS de Lyon. Located on the Monod campus of the ENS de Lyon, the Physics Laboratory of the ENS de Lyon brings together 181 researchers across four research teams. The student will join the “Physics of Living Systems and Active Matter” team.
