Job Description
Missions
The candidate will conduct theoretical research on condensed matter gravity simulators, enabling the identification of exotic properties of relativistic materials.
Activity
Use of various theoretical methods to study the effects of field theory properties in curved spacetime on the transport properties of relativistic materials.
Your Profil
Skills
The candidate must have a solid background in condensed matter physics, master advanced theoretical tools for characterising transport in solids, and have a strong appetite for collaboration with experimental groups.
Your Work Environment
The ENS Lyon Physics Laboratory is a dynamic, multidisciplinary research environment renowned for the excellence of its work in fundamental and applied physics. Located at the heart of a leading scientific ecosystem, the laboratory develops innovative projects at the interface between theory, experimentation and instrumentation. Joining the LPENSL means becoming part of a team engaged in national and international collaborations, benefiting from state-of-the-art equipment and contributing to research with a strong scientific and societal impact. The Physics Laboratory's activities cover a wide range of fields, from statistical physics to hydrodynamic turbulence, including mathematical physics and signal processing, as well as soft and condensed matter. This multidisciplinary approach is fostered in particular by the laboratory's strong association with physics training at the ENS Lyon. The diversity of the topics studied makes it possible to tackle long-standing or emerging problems by combining modelling and experiments at the highest level. The laboratory's in-house expertise allows it to draw on a strong foundation of accurate results, cutting-edge numerical approaches and experiments that are constantly inventing new tools. The candidate's work will be part of the PROCURPHY research project, funded by an ANR contract in 2023. This project involves Maxim Chernodub's group in Tours, Adolfo Grushin's group in San Sebastian, Spain, and Andrei Fedorenko, Edmond Orignac and David Carpentier at LPENSL.
