Job Description
Missions
We are seeking a talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher (M/F) to join our team specializing in the synthesis of hollow fiber membranes and/or electrospun membranes. You will be part of a dynamic team working in the field of membrane separation technologies within our laboratory.
Activity
- Design and develop processes for synthesizing hollow fiber membranes to meet the specific needs of our research and development projects.
- Design and develop processes for synthesizing electrospun membranes tailored to the requirements of our research and development projects.
- Optimize synthesis parameters to enhance membrane performance in terms of selectivity, permeability, and stability.
- Participate in the characterization of synthesized membranes using various analytical techniques.
- Contribute to the analysis of experimental results and the preparation of technical reports.
- Maintain technological awareness to stay informed of recent advancements in the field of hollow fiber membranes.
Your Profil
Skills
- PhD in (nano)materials or chemistry.
- Previous experience in synthesizing hollow fiber membranes and/or electrospun membranes, or in related membrane separation fields, is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of membrane characterization techniques and laboratory analyses.
- Ability to work independently while being an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and capability to propose innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills in both French and English, written and verbal.
Your Work Environment
The postdoctoral activity will take place at the Institut Européen des Membranes (IEM) in collaboration with several industrial partners. The IEM is a joint research unit affiliated with the University of Montpellier, CNRS, and ENSCM (École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier). The main research themes at IEM include membrane chemistry, chemical engineering, and membrane processes. The unit comprises 55 permanent researchers and 100 postdoctoral researchers, doctoral students, and master's students, supported by 24 engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
