Job Description
Missions
One part of the ANR CAPUT programme involves resuming the study of the fragmentary wall paintings from Clos de la Lombarde in Narbonne. We are recruiting a specialist in the reassembly and study of Roman wall paintings (toichographologist) to work on the boxes of painted plaster preserved in the reserves of the Narbo Via Museum.
Activity
In consultation with the ANR CAPUT programme managers, a strategy for selecting the decorations to be studied will be implemented. The aim is to reassemble the painted decorations from several areas of the Clos de la Lombarde dwellings. The toichographologist will be responsible for the entire process of studying the selected decorations, from reassembly to the production of computer graphics to reconstruct the walls.
Your Profil
Skills
Initial training at the CEPMR in Soissons is essential
Experience of Roman archaeological sites
Knowledge of ADOBE software for computer graphics reconstruction of painted decorations
Essential experience in reassembling painted plasterwork from the Roman period
Doctorate level required
Your Work Environment
The ANR CAPUT programme (2026-2030) focuses on the study of social dynamics in Narbonne in Antiquity. An important part of the programme involves the analysis of the domestic sphere. For more information on the programme, please refer to the research notebook: https://caput.hypotheses.org/a-propos
The 10-month fixed-term contract will be based at the Narbo Via Museum, which is equipped with the necessary facilities for this assignment.
