Job Description
Missions
The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for conducting experimental work on ternary mixtures of simple liquids and CO2. In particular, he or she will conduct a series of calorimetric measurements to quantify the amount of CO2 in water-ethanol mixtures. He or she will also characterize mixtures based on solvents with higher CO2 solubility and investigate the influence of salt. He or she will determine the composition of these mixtures and characterize their thermodynamic and dynamic properties.
Activity
bibliography; calorimtery measurements under pressure ; measurements based on scattering techniques : SAXS, SANS, QENS.
Your Profil
Skills
Solid foundational knowledge of physical chemistry, fluid physics, and thermodynamics; practical experience with large-scale instrumentation, X-rays, or neutrons; ability to work independently and stay organized throughout the duration of the contract; ability to work as part of a team; good written and spoken English skills.
Your Work Environment
The Interdisciplinary Physics Laboratory (LIPhy), located on the St. Martin d'Hères campus, is a joint CNRS–Université Grenoble Alpes research unit. LIPhy is composed of approximately 170 people, including 64 researchers and faculty members, 32 engineers, technicians, and administrative staff, and about 80 temporary employees. Research activities are largely focused on the interfaces between physics and other disciplines. LIPhy's research teams have developed cutting-edge techniques in the fields of spectroscopy, optical imaging in scattering media, and micro- and nanoscale force measurements. The laboratory also has a significant focus on theoretical physics, modeling, and high-performance computing, particularly in the fields of statistical physics and complex fluids. It is actively involved in collaborations with the large scale facilities at the EPN campus.
