Job Description
Missions
In the frame of the european project MetCTG (https://www.metctg.ptb.de/home), the successful candidate will be responsible for (i) carrying out a complete spectroscopic study of water vapor in the 1.27 µm spectral region using a cavity ring down spectrometer (CRDS) and (ii) determining the isotopic ratios for different gazeous samples of pure CO2 with an ultra-stable laser source coupled to a CRDS spectrometer.
Activity
Main tasks:
- Optimizing the experimental setups
- Recording the spectra for the different mixtures (H2O-N2 and H2O-air mixtures, pure CO2) and in the different required experimental conditions
- Carrying out the data treatment and analysis
- Writing a lab notebook describing all the activities done
Secondary tasks:
- Participate to the writing of reports and scientific articles following the scientific activities done

Your Work Environment
LIPhy (Interdisciplinary Physics Laboratory, UMR5588) is a joint CNRS-Université Grenoble Alpes laboratory with a strong focus on the interfaces between physics and other disciplines, in particular the life sciences and environmental sciences, mechanics and applied mathematics. The laboratory, located on the Saint-Martin d'Hères campus near Grenoble, has 100 permanent and 50 non-permanent staff. Within LIPhy, the LAME team (Lasers, Molecules and Environment) has over 25 years' experience in developing instruments (CRDS and OF-CEAS spectrometers) for laboratory and in situ measurements, spectrum generation and data analysis in support of trace detection, theoretical studies, satellite missions and international databases such as HITRAN and GEISA.
