Job Description
Missions
A 6-month postdoctoral contract is available within the AstroENS team at the Astrophysical Research Center of Lyon (CRAL), based at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon. The research will focus on star formation through numerical simulations.
Activity
The project will include the following aspects:
Numerical simulations of (non-)ideal magnetohydrodynamics;
Numerical simulations of protostellar collapse and the formation and evolution of protostellar disks.
Your Profil
Skills
The successful candidate must hold a PhD in astrophysics, physics, or applied mathematics with a focus on hydrodynamics, and have experience in stellar or planetary formation, non-ideal magnetohydrodynamics, or numerical simulations.
Your Work Environment
The study will be conducted in collaboration with Benoît Commerçon and the team of the ANR PROMETHEE project. This collaborative research project brings together teams from: the Institut de Planétologie et d'Astrophysique de Grenoble (IPAG, team led by Evelyne Alécian, PI), the Astrophysical Research Center of Lyon (CRAL, team led by Benoît Commerçon), and the Paris Observatory (team led by Ludovic Petitdemange).
