Missions
As part of the Horizon Europe programme, the aim of the Equip-G project is to develop and deploy a network of quantum gravimeters in Europe, the engineer will work under the supervision of the head of the data service at the Midi Pyrénées Observatory (SEDOO) to develop all the software components needed to store, preserve and distribute the data measured. These actions are part of work package (WP) 4: 'FAIR implementation and integrated use of data'.
Activités
Working under the guidance of the Equip-G WP 4 leader and under the technical direction of the SEDOO leader.
- Developing mechanisms for collecting and archiving measured data
- Implement the elements of data FAIRisation :
- Metadata, automatic creation of DOIs, etc.
- Interoperability protocols (WFS, WMS, CSW, etc.)
- Develop the data discovery and download portal
- Carry out tests
- Participate in technical choices
- Participate in work meetings
- Write and update documentation on the tools developed and the work carried out.
Compétences
- Mastery of the Java programming language
- Knowledge of the Spring / Spring Boot framework
- Web development: CSS3, HTML5, Javascript
- Javascript framework such as Angular or VueJS
- NoSQL database (MongoDB)
- Knowledge of mechanisms associated with FAIR principles (interoperability protocols, etc.)
- Tools: GIT, continuous integration
- Environment : Linux
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
Contexte de travail
The recruited engineer will join the SEDOO (Data Service of the Midi-Pyrénées Observatory), which manage data for several scientific projects. The position is part of the EQUIP-G project, funded by the Horizon Europe program. The engineer will contribute to Work Package 4, focused on implementing FAIR principles by designing and deploying software tools for archiving, and distributing data collected by the deployed instruments.
