Missions
The young researcher (M/F) will be integrated into the DABP team of the Microbial Ecology laboratory in Lyon. He/she will work in close collaboration with L. VIAL, coordinator of the ANR PHYEVE project. As part of this ANR project, he/she will develop a study concerning the content of extracellular vesicles of phytobacteria. He/she will be particularly interested in the roles of nucleic acids (DNA/RNA) contained in extracellular vesicles in the ecology of phytobacteria, particularly during its interaction with its plant host.
Activités
The main activities will involve:
- purification of phytobacterial extracellular vesicles (mainly Agrobacterium models)
- analysis of the nucleic acid content (DNA/RNA) of extracellular vesicles
- bioinformatic analyses to identify sRNA targets
- development of functional tests on the selected sRNAs
Compétences
The main activities will involve:
- Purification of extracellular vesicles from phytobacteria (mainly Agrobacterium models)
- Analysis of the nucleic acid content (DNA/RNA) of extracellular vesicles
- Bioinformatic analyses to identify sRNA targets
- Development of functional assays on selected sRNAs
Technical skills in microbiology and microbial ecology, with a good understanding of plant-bacteria interactions
Skills in microbial genetics, with knowledge of sRNAs a plus
- Proficiency in writing scientific articles
- Motivation, diligence, dynamism, and rigor
- Scientific curiosity and creativity
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a research team
Contexte de travail
The CNRS Laboratory of Microbial Ecology (LEM) in Lyon is an internationally recognized research center at the interface between science and innovation, focusing on the study of complex interactions between microorganisms and their environment.
At LEM, we explore the fundamental mechanisms of microbial interactions, from the molecular to the ecosystem level. Our research addresses major societal challenges, such as climate change, antibiotic resistance, soil and water bioremediation, and agroecological crop protection.
We are offering a 24-month contract to develop an innovative project aimed at better understanding the role of extracellular vesicles in phytobacteria. We offer:
• A stimulating work environment with close contact with research staff
• 44 days of vacation/RTT per year
• Tailored training to support you
• Partial reimbursement of travel tickets (75%) + sustainable mobility allowance of up to €300/year
• Financial contribution to health insurance costs
