Missions

As part of the PEPR Prezode ZOOCAM project we are looking for an experienced full-time post-doc for two years with experience in complex data analysis (e.g. hierarchical Bayesian models), metacommunity/dispersal models, host-parasite interactions/evolutionary epidemiology. Ideally, the person will have already worked at the interface between (theoretical) models and data.

The person recruited will be responsible for planning and carrying out field surveys in a system of temporary ponds in the Camargue (on-site data acquisition, laboratory measurements and outsourced eDNA analysis) and for analyzing time series of spatial biodiversity data. Data analysis may be statistical or involve theoretical models.

Compétences

We are looking for someone who is curious and creative, with a solid background in spatial, evolutionary and health ecology and an interest in conceptual, quantitative and interdisciplinary approaches. An interest in methodological or statistical development is welcome. Critical thinking skills, autonomy and open-mindedness are expected. Experience of working in a network bringing together several researchers is advantageous, as the post-doc will have to coordinate the progress of the project with the other workpackages of the ZOOCAM project.

Contexte de travail

The post-doc will work with Emanuel A. Fronhofer (https://www.emanuelfronhofer.net/) and his collaborators at the Institut des Sciences de l'Evolution de Montpellier (ISEM; https://isem-evolution.fr/) and the University of Montpellier (UM; http://www.umontpellier.fr/), France. The project is part of the PEPR ZOOCAM project.
