Job Description

Missions

This project aims aims at understanding the role of secondary DNA structures and their ligands in the regulation of genome expression. He/She will perform genome editing and functional genomics experiments to support its investigations in the laboratory.

Activity

- Genome Editing by CRISPR/Cas9.
- ChIP-seq/RNA-seq/ mapping of G-quadruplexes in the genome.
- Large scale reporter assay.
- Bioinformatics analysis.

Your Profil

Skills

The applicant should have a PhD in Genetics/Molecular Biology, preferably in the fields of transcription/chromatin and/or functional genomics. He/she will be familiar with CRISPR and high-throughput sequencing. Further knowledge in Bioinformatics analyses will be useful for the project but is not compulsory

The Montpellier Institute of Molecular Genetics (IGMM) is a joint research unit of the CNRS and the University of Montpellier. It brings together around 180 staff members distributed across 18 research groups, 9 shared services (including 5 shared with other biology and health research units on the CNRS campus), and 10 cutting-edge technological and scientific platforms, within an international environment.
IGMM is a multidisciplinary institute whose work has a major international impact in both fundamental and applied molecular and cellular biology. The “Transcription and Epigenetics” team focuses on the mechanisms of basal transcription and on the regulation of transcription and chromatin at promoters and enhancers.
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic postdoctoral researcher with strong expertise in genome editing and/or functional genomics.
