Missions
This project aims aims at understanding the role of secondary DNA structures and their ligands in the regulation of genome expression. He/She will perform genome editing and functional genomics experiments to support its investigations in the laboratory.
Activities
- Genome Editing by CRISPR/Cas9.
- ChIP-seq/RNA-seq/ mapping of G-quadruplexes in the genome.
- Large scale reporter assay.
- Bioinformatics analysis.
Skills
The applicant should have a PhD in Genetics/Molecular Biology, preferably in the fields of transcription/chromatin and/or functional genomics. He/she will be familiar with CRISPR and high-throughput sequencing. Further knowledge in Bioinformatics analyses will be useful for the project but is not compulsory
Work Context
The post-doctoral fellow will join the IGMM, which is a plurithematic CNRS research unit, offering an environment perfectly suited to the development of the proposed subject. This unit located on the CNRS campus/ Route de Mende in Montpellier is part of a rich scientific environment composed by the various institutes (IRIM, CRBM, CEFE, etc). In addition, several technical platforms (flow cytometry, imaging, metabolism, etc.) are available and complete the site.
The team Transcription and Epigenomics is interested in basal and activated transcription mechanisms as well as the regulation of gene expression through regulatory elements (promoters and enhancers). We are looking for a motivated and dynamic postdoc with good knowledge in genome editing an dfunctional genomics.
