Missions
The ANR VITRISINT project aims to develop model vitrimer systems produced in powder form (at the CP2M laboratory) and to understand the fundamental mechanisms of stress-assisted sintering, a central process for achieving the programmed mechanical properties. These materials have the potential to replace thermosets in many high-performance industrial applications. The recruited postdoctoral researcher will contribute, within the MATEIS laboratory, to the multiscale characterization of densification, diffusion, and interface evolution phenomena during the sintering of mixtures of hard and soft vitrimers.
Activités
Sintering tests on several mixtures of vitrimers with different glass transition temperatures (hard and soft) will be carried out under various temperature and pressure conditions and followed by detailed microstructural characterization using tomography and X-ray techniques. A full mechanical characterization will then be performed (DMA, tensile testing, fatigue, and possibly fracture toughness). Finally, attention will be given to understanding and characterizing interface healing through AFM measurements. These observations will be compared with the mechanical data and with diffusion models coupled to the dynamics of chemical bond exchange.
