Missions

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated researcher to join our team for an exciting research ANR project on the archaeology of language (Mind2Wall). The ideal candidate will be responsible for the ethnoarchaeological work on the nature and functions of hand representations in parietal art across different cultures around the world.

Activités

1. Design, develop, and maintain a database of hand stencils found in archaeological settings.
2. Develop ethnoarchaeological studies (documentation + fieldwork) on the functions of hands in parietal art.
3. Assist in data analysis and provide support for the research project.
4. Outreach and scientific popularization.

Compétences

1. Proven experience in database development.
2. Knowledge of ethnoarchaeological research methods. Readiness to develop them.
3. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
4. Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
5. Knowledge of English.

Contexte de travail

The work will be carried out at the IKER laboratory (Bayonne), in collaboration with researchers from various laboratories in France and Spain. The candidate will be required to carry out fieldwork abroad and travel to conferences/meetings.
