Missions

The selected applicant will take over the study of the possible impacts of dams on the genomic structure of several sympatric invertebrate species with different life history traits, in addition to expected patterns of isolation by distance and resistance. Individual tissue samples will be RAD-sequenced and ready to process at the time of hiring.

Activities

The candidate will be in charge of the bioinformatic and statistical analyses, and will thus be familiar with both SNP-calling procedures and latest landscape genetics concepts and tools, including individual-based genetic simulations and advanced statistical tools.

Skills

We seek highly motivated individuals with a good command of English but also basic knowledge of French, as interactions with national stake-holders (dam operators and local associations) will be required.An experience in riverscape genetics and with the associated constraints (handling of statistical non-independence resulting from network dendricity, spatial autocorrelation and/or collinearity among environmental predictors) will be a plus. Candidates should have a PhD in Ecology, ideally with post-doctoral experience.

Work Context

As part of the CNRS-SETE , the EEDYL team (Eco-Evolutionary Dynamics in changing Landscapes), notably aiming at understanding patterns of intraspecific biodiversity in freshwater ecosystems and its consequences on ecosystem functioning, is opening a postdoc position in Riverscape Genomics.
