Missions

Finalize the development and validation of a new classification of p53 variants based on their in vitro transcriptional activity, developed over the past 4 years in the team, and analyze the transcriptomic signatures associated with different classes of variants in cancers

Activités

1) Transcriptomic analysis of public or laboratory generated data to identify specific signatures in cancers (somatic mutations) and in normal tissues and cells (constitutive mutations)
2) Bioinformatics analysis of the neoantigenic character of variants and its impact on cancer penetrance (germline mutation) and/or on cellular and molecular phenotype (somatic mutation)
3) To prepare the publication and dissemination of the results
The project will take place at the Institute for the Advancement of Biosciences (Grenoble). The researcher will rely on the skills in sample generation and data analysis of the group led by P. Hainaut, as well as on the skills of collaborators (national platforms and international teams).

Contexte de travail

The Institute for the Advancement of Biosciences (IAB) is a joint research unit whose supervisors are the CNRS (UMR 5309), INSERM (U1209) and Grenoble Alpes University. The IAB develops a set of fundamental and translational research programs in the fields of epigenetics, environment, cellular plasticity, applied to cancers, parasitic infections and infertility. The IAB comprises 19 teams supported by 5 technical platforms. The researcher will work in the team 'Epigenetics, Immunity, Metabolism, Cell Signaling and Cancer', whose central theme is the involvement of p53 mutants in the deregulation of several fundamental mechanisms that contribute to carcinogenesis.
